Agwadeyësta’ Do:gëh
'We learn together'
A Seneca language Initiative
Who are we?
Agwadeyësta’ Do:gëh is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit operating on the Allegany Territory of the Seneca Nation. We are dedicated to promoting and supporting current and future revitalization efforts of Onöndowa’ga’ Gawën:nö’ (Seneca Language).
Why we do this?
Our language enables our people to express ideas and values that are consistent with our natural ways; “we will be able to talk about the right things in the right way.” Our language is the base of our identity. A strong sense of identity creates a greater and more powerful individual and Nation sovereignty.

What are we going to do?
We will structure a learning environment that results in a connected, seamless, 20 year generation of youthful proficient speakers who, like family, will grow and learn together.
How will we do it?
We will begin the process with the young children. This first group of learners becomes the language partner and support for the second group; this pattern continues resulting in connected groups of learners who, over time, can speak Onöndowa’ga’ Gawën:nö’ to each other, “just like we used to.”
